Better Night Vision

The first TRUE solution to night vision problems

With the revolutionary PSF Refractor from Vmax Vision, eye care patients can finally obtain a real solution to their night vision issues during their regular eye exam.
Individuals complaining of nighttime driving problems commonly experience a measurable change in their vision as the pupil the latest night in low-light conditions. This change is difficult to measure with the conventional phoropter (manual eye exam device that requires you to respond to “Which is better, one or two?”), as the patient must be tested in nighttime conditions. As a result, eyeglass wearers have been unable to receive a correction that specifically addresses poor night vision.
The VmaxPSF Refractor uses a patented process to identify and correct nighttime-specific visual problems during the eye exam, resulting in a unique night vision prescription in just a few minutes.

How It Works

The PSF Refractor’s use of a point“target”, rather than the traditional letter system, creates the ability to emulate nighttime driving conditions. The device allows the background on which the point target is viewed to be darkened to simulate nighttime vision conditions, and a unique prescription is quickly generated.
Once the nighttime prescription has been calculated, the patient can see the difference between their original prescription and their new Vmax Night prescription. You can then decide if you want two pairs of spectacles – one for day and one for night, or one pair of spectacles for night only.

Highlights:

  • • Low-light exam identifies night vision issues

  • • Vmax’s Night vision exam delivers a correction in just a few minutes

  • • New nighttime prescription maximizes acuity and contrast sensitivity simultaneously

  • • Nighttime prescription reduces glare and halos during night driving

  • • Optimal night vision is achieved when combined with a personalized Encepsion™ Lens

Study Results

Independent studies have shown that patients experience a significant improvement in night vision with the the unique PSF nighttime refraction combined with an Encepsion Lens.
